When Luke Jurevicius first laid his hands on his father’s two-string banjo, he knew that music was in his blood.
Luke has been composing music for television and digital media since 2004. His first major commissioned work was a triptych for the ABC entitled “I Love You to Bits” – an emotional composition that accompanied the animated tale of Orpheus and the Underworld by brother Nathan Jurevicius. This captured the hearts of the ABC and led to the music commissioning of 13 x 5 minute animated films for the award winning Dust Echoes project. For his work on Dust Echoes, Luke won the 2007 APRA/AGSC Award for Best Music for Children’s Television. Luke also became the Creative Director for Dust Echoes 2.
From Dust Echoes, Luke moved on to several other large scale projects including the online games for Chiko Accidental Alien and Scarygirl, which received an AFI nomination and four nominations at the 2009 GDAA Game Developer Awards including Best Audio.
Luke is the key composer and voice artist for Blake Publishing’s Reading Eggs, as well as the voice of Figaro Pho, Horace in Slow Motion, and ’13′ for the ABC’s Zimmer Twins.
