The ABC approached Luke with an exciting opportunity to create music and sound for Dust Echoes; a cross platform series of five short animated films. The traditional stories were collected from the indigenous community of Beswick in Central Arnhem Land. The series received a fantastic national and international response.
Based on the success of the first series, the ABC commissioned a further eight episodes for series two. A solid working relationship between Vishus Productions and the ABC led to Luke becoming the Creative Director, Composer and Sound Designer. Sent to Beswick for two weeks, Luke gathered stories, reference materials and sound recordings to aid the production. The very talented Tom E. Lewis contributed to the storytelling, cultural guidance and music.
Vishus Productions collaborated with Arthur Moody of Visual Media Productions to create two of the Dust Echoes episodes: ‘Moon Man’ and ‘The Curse’. This was the beginning of a fruitful relationship between Arthur and Luke which has spanned close to five years.
